Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:

  1. Sandy Springs neighborhoods have donated a new grill to the new Fire Station No. 2. The grill is a large gas barbecue grill and is meant for the firefighters that eventually will be stationed at the new station. The neighborhood representatives were given a tour of the new station as a special thanks. (Reporter Newspapers)
  2. The next ChatComm Technical Advisory Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, Sep. 7 via Zoom. The meeting is at 2:00 p.m. The agenda has not yet been announced. (City of Sandy Springs)
  3. In response to the special prosecutor's decision not to submit Rayshard Brooks' case to the Fulton County grand jury, the Georgia NAACP is requesting the U.S. DOJ to investigate the Atlanta Police Department. The organization claims that the department has "shot and killed nearly 100 Black men since 2015". The organization wants the department to be held accountable for its practices and says it is time for a change. (CBS46)
