New Leader Joins Fulton Central Learning Community
Dr. Nathalie Means Henderson will oversee the community, which represents schools in College Park, East Point, Hapeville and Sandy Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- A new leader has joined the Fulton County School System's Central Learning Community.
Dr. Nathalie Means Henderson has been tapped to serve as the area superintendent of the community, which represents schools in College Park, East Point, Hapeville and Sandy Springs. In this role she will work with the schools’ leadership to achieve their instructional goals.
Dr. Henderson joins Fulton County from Oklahoma City Public Schools where she most recently served as Instructional Leadership director, supervising 11 elementary schools. Prior to this role she worked at St. Louis Public Schools for 12 years as a principal, assistant principal and special education teacher.

Dr. Henderson earned a doctorate from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a specialist’s degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in special education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in history from Spelman College.
Fulton County Schools also announced two additional leadership appointments: Creseda Hawk as principal of Renaissance Middle School in Fairburn and Kirk Sykes as the area executive director of the South Learning Community.

Hawk moves into the position after serving as an assistant principal at Creekside High School for the past three years and before that was a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program specialist for the South Learning Community. She also was a math teacher and curriculum specialist at Woodland Middle School for six years.
Hawk earned a bachelor’s degree in education with a focus in mathematics and language arts from Georgia State University. She also holds a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of West Georgia and a specialist’s degree in educational leadership from Georgia College and State University.
In his new role, Sykes will provide day-to-day administrative and leadership support to middle and high schools in the south Fulton area, specifically those in the Creekside, Langston Hughes, and Westlake high school clusters.
Sykes comes to Fulton from the Baltimore area where he has served as a principal for approximately 10 years. He also has experience as a classroom teacher and dean of students as well as a coordinator and director of educational non-profit organizations.
Sykes earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Morgan State University and a master’s degree in education from Coppin State University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership.
