No Electricity: 40 Roadways Have Downed Power Lines From Thursday Storm

Many Sandy Springs residents were still without power at mid-afternoon, Friday.

Many customers were still without power on Friday afternoon. Sandy Springs officials estimate about 25,000 were without power after the Thursday storm.

“We are doing our best to quickly clear the trees and remove debris from the roadways,” said city manager John McDonough, in a statement. “At those locations where power lines are down, we must wait until Georgia Power is able to de-energize the lines. Safety is a priority, and we can’t stress enough for residents to treat all down lines as live and extremely dangerous.”
