North Springs Announces 2018 Valedictorian, Salutatorian
North Springs will hold its commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 23 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — North Springs Charter High School is celebrating its 2018 valedictorian and salutatorian, as well as its top 10 seniors with the highest numeric grade point average.
As part of the school's tradition, these 10 students will be recognized during the school's commencement ceremony. The 2018 graduation will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta.
Jared Coffsky, 2018 valedictorian

Jared Coffsky, 18, son of Adam and Amy Coffsky of Sandy Springs is North Springs’ valedictorian for the Class of 2018. Jared is a math and science magnet student, a 2018 STAR Student (a distinction given to a senior(s) with the highest SAT score taken at one sitting (1580), a 2018 National Merit Finalist, and an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Jared has served as the co-president of the Spartan Math Team and co-captain of the Varsity Tennis Team, which reached the 1st round of State finals this year and the State quarter finals last year. Jared played singles all four years, receiving The Spartan Award his senior year and the Scholar Athlete Award all four years.

He is also a member of the National Mathematics Honor Society, the National Honor Society, and a winner of numerous math awards. He has been a private math tutor since his sophomore year and has volunteered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk since middle school. Jared will be attending Georgia Institute of Technology and is planning on majoring in engineering or math.
Eric Miller, 2018 salutatorian
Eric Miller, 18, son of Drs. Mindi and Scott Miller of Sandy Springs, is North Springs’ salutatorian for the Class of 2018. Eric is a math and science magnet student, a 2018 STAR Student (both he and Jared scored a perfect 800 on the math portion of the SAT exam), a member of the National Mathematics Honor Society and the National Honor Society. Eric is also a 2018 National Merit Finalist and was a 2017 Governors Honors finalist in math.
He is President of the Latin Club, a Gold Medal National Latin Exam winner, and an officer in the Computer Science Club. Eric and his team placed 7th in the State in the 2018 Future Business Leaders Mobile App Development Competition. A paper he has written about his 2017 Prime Number Research project and fascination with the nature and function of mathematical numbers, such as primes, is now being considered for publication.
Eric is the current president of Temple Emanu-El Federation of Temple Youth and served as social action vice president from 2014-17. Eric will be attending the University of Georgia as a Ramsey Scholar majoring in computer science.
