North Springs Drama Opens Season With French Comedy
The school's spin on "Tartuffe" is a shorter, faster-paced story set in New York City during the 1920s.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- North Springs Charter High School's Drama Magnet program on Thursday opened its 2016-17 theater season with a modern take on Moliere’s classic 17th century French comedy, "Tartuffe."
The North Springs’ show is shorter, faster paced, and set in New York City during the 1920’s.
“It has a Great Gatsby feel, and it’s extremely funny,” said Joel King, technical theater teacher and director.

Another unique feature of the school’s production is the live jazz music, also from the 1920’s, is written and performed by student music directors Grace Motahari and Mekhi Gladden, along with five other music students who comprise the pit orchestra.
Motahari and Gladden have been working on the music for the past seven weeks; the show was cast with 12 actors just after school started in early August.
