This fun, energetic soul-filled musical, a seven-time Tony award winner, is an urban retelling of L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
North Springs’ production, like its Broadway namesake, tells the touching story of friendship, family and the universal power of home with a cast of 56 student actors. With the technical crew (handling set construction, lights, sound, costumes), student directors, a full pit orchestra and choral singers, over 300 students are involved -- the largest cast ever at North Springs.

The Wiz, which won Best Musical and Best Original score in 1975, features many now-classic pop songs like No Bad News, Home and Ease on Down the Road and several large dance numbers, which the cast is very excited about and showcases North Springs’ musical theater talent.
Performance dates and times are 7:30 p.m. April 15-16 and April 20-21 and 3 p.m. April 16-17. The Wiz will be performed in the school’s main stage theater.
Tickets are $8 students, $15 adults and $10 for seniors and can be purchased online at www.northspringstickets.com or at the box office prior to each show.
