North Springs High School Boasts Two STAR Students

Yaron Bernstein and DeAndre Johnson were honored for scoring the highest in representing their graduating class.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Yaron Bernstein and DeAndre Johnson are North Springs High School's STAR students. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia's outstanding high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development.

This is a distinct honor and privilege as they have met the requirement and scored the highest in representing their graduating class. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on one test date on the three-part SAT taken through the November test date of their senior year and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. Nominees' SAT scores must be equal to or higher than the latest available national average on the math, critical reading and writing sections. Deandre and Yaron both scored a 1560 on the SAT.

Each high school STAR Student is asked to name his/her STAR Teacher. Bernstein chose John Gresens.
