North Springs High School Celebrates 5th Annual Arts Festival Showcasing Student Talent

North Springs High School will host its 5th Annual NSHS Arts Festival on Saturday, May 2^nd. This FREE day-long event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at North Springs High School, 7447 Roswell Road NE, Sandy Springs, 30338. The festival is a community tradition that highlights the school’s arts programs and brings together students, families, and local performers for a full day of music, theatre, and interactive activities.

Founded by North Springs High School Music Department and organized by Orchestra Director, Dr. Mirna Dinovic and Band Director, Mr. Michael Brown, the festival celebrates the depth of talent within North Springs’ Arts Magnet program. It also showcases the wide range of performing ensembles at North Springs.

As one of North Springs’ signature events, the NSHS Arts Festival reflects the strength of its engaged creative community as it continues to build on its identity as a strong arts magnet school with plans to be the first STEAM-certified high school in Fulton County Schools.

“What makes this event especially impressive is that it is almost entirely organized by the NSHS Tri-M National Award-Winning Music Honor Society,” said Dr. Mirna Dinovic. “Student leaders work hard each year to plan, coordinate, and bring the festival to life, with support from faculty sponsors and members of the arts faculty. Their dedication is what makes this celebration of the arts possible.”

The festival offers a wide range of activities for attendees of all ages. Performances take place throughout the school across multiple stages and spaces, complemented by games, food vendors, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day. In addition, students and community members will display and sell original artwork, crafts, and creative works.

This year’s Main Stage lineup features performances by North Springs’ outstanding Orchestra and Chorus programs. The event will also debut a new Music Industry Concert. The NSHS Music Industry program includes more than 200 students who practice daily in six fully equipped, professional‑level music studios. Students enjoy unique classes, such as Rock Band, where they perform in small ensembles, and Music Industry, where they write and develop their original music. The program supports about 15 active rock groups who practice and perform regularly.

North Springs’ Theatre program will also present its production of Horse Girls. Other teachers whose students will perform include Mrs. Jesse Gilbert (Chorus Director), Mr. Joel King (Theatre Director), and Mr. Throne (Language Arts teacher), whose ensembles, performers, and students contribute to the festival’s diverse schedule and artistic reach. Musicians from Sandy Springs Charter Middle School, under the direction of Mr. Lenin Pena, will also perform.
