North Springs Names Top 10 Scholars For Class of 2016

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- North Springs Charter High School has released its Top Ten Scholars for the class of 2016.

Students receiving the honor include:

• Sanjay John, Valedictorian,
• Abi Szabo, Salutatorian,
• Rachel Miller (3)
• Luke Muehring (4)
• Elizabeth Gilbert (5)
• Alice Ann Lever (6)
• Alexa Rakusin (7)
• Rachel Kaufman (8)
• Sarah Saltzman (9)
• Jamie Greenberg (10)

These students hold the top 10 highest cumulative numeric averages for this year’s senior class.

In addition to numerous North Springs’ honors, awards and leadership positions, two are National Merit Finalists, two are semifinalists for Georgia Tech’s Presidential Scholarship, one is STAR student and Presidential Scholarship finalist at Southern Methodist University, one is a Presidential Scholarship recipient at Tulane University and one is a Chancellor Scholarship recipient at Franciscan University.

Seven of the ten have declared their college choice and will be attending the following schools: Georgia Institute of Technology: Sanjay John, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Alice Ann Lever; Franciscan University: Rachel Miller; Washington University in St. Louis: Alexa Rakusin; University of Pennsylvania: Abi Szabo, and Emory University: Sarah Saltzman.

The students were joined by their parents at a celebratory luncheon held March 3 in their honor, and as is traditional at North Springs, all will have a special role at the May 26 graduation.
