North Springs Presents 20th Anniversary Spring Dance Show

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- North Springs Charter High School’s popular Dance Magnet will celebrate the department's 20th anniversary with its 2017 Spring Dance Show over a three-day period.

The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 12; Saturday, May 13; and Monday, May 15 at the school. Friday and Saturday’s show will feature students in Dance 3, 4 and the elite, audition-only Company.

Monday’s show will feature students in Dance 1 and 2. In all, more than 150 dancers will perform works in a range of dance styles from contemporary, ballet to hip hop and jazz and all will be original choreography.

North Springs has three professional dance studios on its campus and regularly brings in outside artists and works with area collegiate dance programs.

“North Springs is known throughout the state for creating artists," said North Springs teacher Andrea Smith. "Every year we have amazing students who continue to pursue dance at college and continue as professionals."

Denise Kent, who founded the magnet program in 1996, is proud to see how the program has grown and continues to grow.

“Both Andy and I are looking forward to seeing many of our former students at our show this weekend," Kent added. "It will be special to see them and to celebrate our current students. They are all so talented.”

Tickets for this Main Stage production are $10 students and $15 general admission for Friday and Saturday and $5 on Monday.
