According to competition judge Alison Scheel, creative director and owner of Sandy Springs-based Yellobee Studio, Foster’s presentation was “clean, creative and unique, with great use of space and color.
“His design will be easy to apply to multiple mediums, from banners to t-shirts, to help build a recognizable brand for SSEF’s STE(A)M Showcase,” Scheel said. ”Jason won over a very tough field of competitors – all of the designs showed great talent and imagination.”
Upon graduating in the spring, Foster intends to continue studying graphic design and plans to pursue a career in the field.
Each year since 2011, Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) has presented an interactive exhibition where Sandy Springs citizens can experience the fascinating, fast-changing world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
These hands-on events are just one part of the organization’s multi-faceted outreach programs designed to challenge, inspire and support our public school students’ pursuit of STEM education.
In 2014 and 2015 SSEF’s STEM exhibition, presented in partnership with Georgia Tech Research Institute, was awarded the Technology Association of Georgia’s prestigious STEM Education Award for Extracurricular Programs.
This year’s showcase, which will be presented in cooperation with the Atlanta Science Festival, will also incorporate exhibits highlighting the arts, expanding visitors’ horizons from STEM to STE(A)M.
Captivating hands-on demonstrations will provide exceptional experiences from an array of exhibitors such as the High Museum of Art, MODA, Georgia Tech, Big Peach, The Alliance Theater, AT&T and more.
The Showcase’s evening session runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
