North Springs Students To Show Off Their Moves With Project Dance

North Springs Charter High School’s noted magnet dance program will present its 18th annual fall dance concert, Project Dance, this weekend.

This showcase of original student choreography will be presented in the school’s main stage theater at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7.

The show will feature about 30 of the magnet program’s elite Company or Dance 4 students. The Dance Magnet program, established at North Springs in 1996, is one of the premiere components of the school’s Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program (VPA) which also includes the Drama, Technical Theater, Visual Arts and Music Magnet Programs.

Interested students must apply to the magnet program, have an 80 GPA and audition for class placement; magnet students are required to take eight additional elective arts courses.

The Dance program at North Springs has three professional dance studios with cushioned wood floors, ballet bars and mirrored walls and offers five levels of dance classes including Jazz, Modern, Dance Master and Dance Composition plus the audition - only Company class.

Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. Reserved seating can be purchased online and general admission tickets available at the door.
