North Springs Theater Students Present 'Sister Act'

Performances of 'Sister Act' will begin on March 16 at North Springs Charter High School in Sandy Springs.

From North Springs Charter High School: North Springs Charter High School’s spring musical is always widely anticipated and this year, the school’s theater magnet is proud to present Sister Act, a musical based off the popular movie made famous by Whoopi Goldberg.

With a cast of 30 students including a live pit orchestra, Sister Act tells the story of aspiring disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who after witnessing her gangster boyfriend commit murder, ends up hiding, on police orders, in a convent whose parish has fallen on hard times. She finds her calling working with the choir; breathing new life in the dusty convent and discovering a sisterhood she’s never had before.

“North Springs’ drama students are amazingly talented and our theatre program is unique because everything from sets, to costumes, lights, sound, hair and makeup is executed by the creativity of our student artists,” explains Joel King, drama teacher and technical director. “We are proud to say we don’t do high school shows, we do professional shows with high schools students.”
