Northside Hospital Expands Emergency Room in Sandy Springs

The Northside Hospital Emergency Department recently unveiled its $2.5 million expansion of its campus in Sandy Springs.

The latest improvements have added 15 treatment spaces, which brings the number of beds in the emergency department to 45, the hospital said.

“Since last year, we’ve had a 13 percent growth in our emergency services,” said Chris Munn, director of Northside Hospital Emergency Services. “In 2014 alone, the department saw 56,584 patient visits. People choose Northside for their emergency needs because we have a great reputation for quality and customer friendly service, plus quick patient through-put compared to other hospitals.”

Along with the 4,000 square-feet addition, Northside has added more emergency trained doctors, nurses and providers who are ready 24-hours a day. In addition to emergency services, Northside provides quick entry into its healthcare system, if additional medical services are needed.

“Many of our emergency service patients are treated and discharged, often in less than two hours,” Munn added. “Your ER doctor will tell you to follow up with your regular doctor or you many need to be admitted to the hospital or surgery.”
