One Lane of Abernathy Road To Close for Greenway Improvements

Motorists who rely on Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs should note the city will close one lane of the thoroughfare starting next week.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20, one westbound lane of Abernathy Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. between Wright and Brandon Mill roads as the city upgrades walkway materials at Abernathy Greenway Park.

Weather permitting, installation of the new pavers is expected to take up to two months, the city said on its Facebook page.

Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution through the area.
