Plea Proceedings Postponed For Doctor Charged With Child Molestation
The Fulton County District Attorney's Office said Kelly Thrasher, 41, of Sandy Springs was scheduled to plead guilty on Monday.

The plea proceedings have been postponed in the case of a Sandy Springs doctor facing child molestation charges.
The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said pre-trial motions were scheduled to start Monday morning in the case against Kelly Thrasher, 41.
“However, shortly before those proceedings, there were indications Thrasher might instead enter a guilty plea,” the district attorney’s office’s press release said.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford, who is presiding over the case, rescheduled the plea hearing for Oct. 27.
Thrasher is charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation and sexual battery, all of which stem from a November 17, 2012, incident during a sleepover at his home. He was indicted in early 2013 on those charges following a police investigation that started in November 2012.

The doctor’s legal woes don’t end there.
Sandy Springs police on May 18 issued arrest warrants for Trasher on identity fraud and forgery in the second degree charges after he allegedly obtained the passport under another name.
The doctor initially arranged to turn himself in to Sandy Springs detectives, but did not show up at the meeting.
Thrasher was located and arrested on May 21 in a Miami hotel room and had about $30,000 in cash with him at the time of his arrest by U.S. Marshals. After his return, detectives also charged Thrasher with an additional four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after a forensic inspection of his laptop revealed four pornographic photos of a child.
Earlier this year, Thrasher was arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license. That charge stems from complaints that Thrasher was seeing patients in his office, which violates the Georgia State Licensing Board’s suspension of his license pending the disposition of the earlier cases.
