Police: Sandy Springs Mailing Center Employees Robbed at Gunpoint
A smartphone and roughly $17,000 in cash were taken Thursday afternoon at America's Mail Center at 6595 Roswell Road.

The Sandy Springs Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of two employees at a business on Roswell Road.
Officers with the agency responded around 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 to America’s Mail Center at 6596 Roswell Road and were met by two employees who said they were held up at gunpoint by a man and woman.
The husband and wife told police that two customers — a black male and black female — came inside and inquired about money order. The two suspects left the store, but returned a short time later.

According to an incident report released by the agency, the man and woman approached the counter and the male suspect “jumped over the counter and immediately began beating” the male victim with his fists. The woman went around the counter and also begin to beat the female victim with her fists.
Both victims, who suffered head injuries, told police the man brandished a small black handgun while the woman carried a small silver handgun. The male victim was tied up and placed in a restroom while the female victim was also bound and placed in an office.

The two suspects proceeded to take about $17,000 from the company and a black Apple iPhone 5 before leaving the store, according to the incident report.
Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon said it’s undetermined if the suspects fled on foot or in a vehicle.
Momon added surveillance footage showed the male suspect was wearing black baseball cap with a logo on the front and lettering on the back, a black shirt and possibly khaki or green cargo shorts. The woman was wearing a shirt with 3/4ths length sleeves, short spandex shorts and a black, pink and red baseball hat.
Neither suspect appeared to be wearing gloves during the incident, according to the report.

Additionally, Sandy Springs police is offering a $10,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of those persons responsible for this robbery and assault, Momon said.
