Police Seize GHB, Meth From Sandy Springs Home

A Sandy Springs woman has been charged with a slew of drug offenses after police uncovered a large stash of meth, marijuana and GHB stowed away at her home.

Brooke D. Harrington, 34, has been charged by Sandy Springs police with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking GHB, possession of marijuana, distribution of Schedule II and Schedule IV and possession of Schedule III.

Officers with the DeKalb County Narcotics Unit on April 9 received a tip alleging Harrington was involved in trafficking crystal meth, said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon.

DeKalb officials located Harrington’s address — a home on Kingsport Drive — and reached out to the Sandy Springs Police Department’s Special Investigative Unit for help in its probe of the case, according to an incident report released by Sandy Springs police.

DeKalb officers conducted surveillance at her home due to the tip and observed Harrington leave her home.

A traffic stop was conducted along Interstate 285 at Buford Highway in DeKalb County and Harrington was allegedly found to be in possession of over a pound of crystal meth.

A search warrant was executed for her Sandy Springs home and officers with Sandy Springs Police’s SIU, K-9 Unit and the agency’s Street Crimes Unit, all assisted with the operation with the help of DeKalb County narcotics officers.

Detectives located 1 pound, 9.1 ounces of crystal meth, 11 gallons of Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid, or GHB (commonly referred to as the “date-rape” drug), 12 grams of marijuana, ketamine, several veterinary medications and over 500 prescription medications, including Viagra and Xanax, Sgt. Momon said.

Over $16,000 in cash was also located inside the house, the police report states.

Along with the charges she faces in Sandy Springs, Harrington has also been charged with trafficking meth by DeKalb law enforcement officers.

DeKalb County records show Harrington posted a $25,000 bond April 25 for the offense committed in its jurisdiction.
