Police Work To Identify Alleged Newport Cigarette Thief

At least two incidents occurred in early October at Publix stores in Sandy Springs.

Sandy Springs police are asking its citizens to help them identify a man wanted in a string of robberies by sudden snatching.

The man is accused of allegedly taking cartons of Newport cigarettes from area stores, said spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon.

At least two incidents occurred at Publix stores in the city: 1100 Peachtree Dunwoody Road and 7525 Roswell Road in early October.

Residents are asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477) if they have information on this case.

As always, anyone with information does not have to give his or her’s name or any identifying information to be eligible for a cash reward.

If the information leads to an arrest and indictment, the tipster could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
