Proposed Fulton Science Textbooks On Review Until Dec. 6

Science textbooks and materials are on public review until December 6th in accordance with the Georgia Board of Education standards.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA - From Fulton County Schools: Science textbook materials being considered for future use in all Fulton County schools are on display for public feedback beginning today.

In 2016, the Georgia Board of Education approved revised science standards, called the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Science, which led school systems to consider adopting new textbooks and materials. In Fulton, teacher feedback was used to narrow textbook vendors, and additional feedback from teachers and parents during the public review period will be used to make the final selections. Materials are available for public viewing from November 1 until December 6.

There are 11 sites from across the district to view the resources. Parents, school system employees and community members can provide feedback through an electronic survey on a school computer or smart phone. Some materials also can be reviewed digitally at http://bit.ly/ScienceAdoption, and a summary of each science course, textbook title and publisher are posted here.
