Public Discourse Panel For Live Learn Lead 2018
Difficult conversations must be had, the release says, as a matter of public importance.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA - From Leadership Sandy Springs: In an age of polarized views and heated emotions on social media, public discourse has become unproductive and even divisive. Engaging one another on significant moral and political issues sometimes causes rifts in our community life. While many would prefer conflict avoidance versus risk of ridicule or ostracization, these conversations cannot be avoided; they are a matter of public importance. How to link civility with difficult conversations is the focus of Live Learn Lead 2018, the fourth annual speaker event sponsored by Leadership Sandy Springs (LSS) on Thursday, February 22 at Cox Enterprises.
This year, LSS presents a new format, a panel of leading influencers and a crucial topic: Public Discourse – Connecting through Effective Conversations. The panel will be moderated by former WSB TV News Anchor John Pruitt, and will include Hon. Saxby Chambliss, retired U.S. Senator and partner at DLA Piper; Lee Rhyant, retired vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin and current CEO of LER Solutions; and Teya Ryan, president and CEO of Georgia Public Broadcasting. Panelists will share their perspectives on public discourse from their respective careers in politics, business and the media.
The event is open to the public though seating is limited. Networking and dinner begin at 6 p.m. and the
program starts at 7 p.m. Event location:
