The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sandy Springs.

Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Nicole Tess Kazora , your host of the Sandy Springs Daily.

First, today's weather:

Times of clouds and sun. High: 87 Low: 67.

Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:

The Sandy Springs Fire Department is asking for $2 million to replace two fire trucks and old gear. (Reporter Newspapers)
  2. Tired of combing through endless internet listings for homes in the Sandy Springs area? Patch has rounded up five in-person open houses occurring in the Sandy Springs area this week. Click to view property photos, times, and prices. (Sandy Springs Patch)
  3. The Fulton County District Attorney detailed a joint plan to address recent gang crime. According to the district attorney, 90 percent of recent crime stems from gangs. The first part of the plan is constant communication between the mayor and the district attorney. The plan's second part focuses on gang prevention through mentorship programs. At the end of the day, they both agree that violent gang members need to go to prison. (WSB Atlanta)
