Rain Washes Out Friday's Movies By Moonlight
Organizers with Leadership Sandy Springs have decided to cancel the Oct. 2 screening of "Cinderella."

The forecast for a rainy weekend has forced organizers to cancel the final installment of Leadership Sandy Springs’ Movies By Moonlight.

The cancellation, made by LSS Executive Director Jan Paul, was made in consideration of the forecast as well as the “uncertainties” about Hurricane Joaquin’s path.

“Another postponement is not out of the question, though the MBM (Movies By Moonlight) committee has many issues to consider regarding school calendars, availability of space, and other community events and logistics,” the organization said.

The final movie -- “Cinderella” -- was originally scheduled to be shown Sept. 25 on the lawn of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church Activities Center. However, organizers decided to postpone the event to Oct. 2 due to rain that moved into the area.
