Reminder: Sandy Springs Library Closes Aug. 8
The library will get an extensive makeover as part of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System renovation program.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Public Library will be among four facilities that will close next week as part of the Library Renovation Program of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System.
The Sandy Springs, Southwest Atlanta, Kirkwood and Washington Park libraries will close to the public Wednesday, Aug. 8. The project to overhaul these libraries are part of the second phase of the system's Capital Improvement Program. Exterior work on all seven branches began earlier this summer in preparation for the August closing dates.
The design/build team of Hogan Construction and McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture & Chasm Architecture has contracted with Fulton County to provide design, engineering and construction management services for the Group 1 renovation projects and Heery/Russell is the program management team.

Dr. Morley said some of the upgrades include new HVAC systems, roofing, upgraded technology, improved layouts, new shelving, study rooms and ADA accessible restrooms.
"While we know the closing of libraries will bring some inconvenience, the result will be well worth it," Dr. Morley goes on to state. "We look forward to completing the renovations as quickly as possible and re-opening beautifully renovated libraries that can serve their communities more efficiently."
