Report: Man Who Shot Resident Showed "Disdain" For Illegal Immigrants
Aaron Cary Anderson, 31, is accused of firing an airsoft handgun at a Hispanic resident at the Berkeley Run Apartments in Sandy Springs.
A Sandy Springs man is facing aggravated assault charges for firing an airsoft handgun at a man inside an apartment complex last weekend.
Aaron Cary Anderson, 31, was booked into the Fulton County Jail late Saturday evening on aggravated assault and reckless conduct charges for allegedly firing the weapon from the balcony of his apartment unit in Berkeley Run Apartments on Glenridge Drive.
According to an incident report from the Sandy Springs Police Department, officers responded to a person shot call at around 10 p.m. April 26. An officer met with Enrique Ignacio-Peralta and Citlaly Gonzalez, who said a person fired towards them from a balcony on the 600 building.

Ignacio-Peralta said he was hit in the back, but did not suffer serious injuries.
The two individuals were able to identify Anderson as the person who allegedly fired the weapon. Anderson, who appeared to be "extremely impaired" at the time of the incident, told offers he was a taxpayer and there were "illegal immigrants" inside the complex, according to the report.

Anderson told officers he was shooting towards a tree, but he later became "obviously agitated" after officers continued their round of questions.
He later told officers he wouldn't answer any more questions.
However, Anderson's father Cary Anderson cooperated with authorities, and allowed officers inside the apartment to retrieve the weapon, a KWC Taurus airsoft pistol.
"In my opinion, Aaron Anderson's actions were a clear and present danger to the public as he showed a clear disdain for illegal immigrants through his words and actions," the officer wrote.
Jail records show Anderson remains behind bars.
