UPDATE: The Punchline Could Leave Sandy Springs

The Punchline Comedy Club's co-owner said he is "excited" about the opportunity a new location could provide for his business.

With its 33rd anniversary just around the corner, The Punchline Comedy Club will “set its sights on finding a new home.”

According to the company’s press release, co-owner Jamie Bendall said “it’s the right time” for the company to consider moving from its location at 280 Hilderbrand Drive NE in Sandy Springs, which could occur in April.

“A variety of things lined up with redevelopment coming in Sandy Springs and some exciting things happening around metro Atlanta,” he added in a statement. ”It’s hard not to love your original showroom and all of the memories from over the years. Nevertheless, we’re excited for the opportunity a new location offers that will incorporate the best aspects of the current club with some new features.”

When reached by phone Thursday afternoon, Bendall added ”it would be our hope to continue to be part of Sandy Springs.” He noted that he’s spoken with a few movers and shakers in the city to possibly consider finding another location in the city limits.

Fellow co-owner Chris DiPetta added the Hilderbrand Drive location ”has been a great chapter in our story, but we are looking forward to writing the next chapter to cover the next thirty years.”
