Resident To Run For Sandy Springs City Council

Steve Soteres is a veteran of the construction industry and is heavily involved in the community.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- A construction company executive and longtime community volunteer has announced his plans to run for the Sandy Springs City Council.

Steve Soteres is running for the District 2 seat held by incumbent Ken Dishman, who has said he will not be seeking another four-year term.

Soteres is a resident of the Huntcliff neighborhood, member of the Cherokee Town & Country Club and has been very active in his community for more than 14 years. His interest in redevelopment along the northern corridor of Roswell Road is what propelled Soteres to work with Dishman in organizing a committee of commercial property owners, residents, business owners, developers, industry consultants and other key stakeholders to look at innovative approaches to encourage improvements.

“As a long-time resident of Sandy Springs, I am very excited about the prospect of serving my community and being a catalyst for meaningful transformation," the candidate said. "My hope is to continue the work I have started as a private citizen and to give back to my community in a more formal capacity."
