Next week, residents and the community at large will have a chance to see how that input influenced the design of the City Center project during two special called City Council meetings on Tuesday, June 16 and Thursday, June 18.
Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 4 p.m. at Sandy Springs City Hall while Thursday’s meeting will get underway at 6:30 p.m. at Heritage Sandy Springs.

“We received feedback from more than 1,000 individuals, significant participation across a broad cross section of the community,” said Mayor Rusty Paul. “While design is driven by personal tastes and style, our goal is to have City Center reflective of the community’s collective personality – conveying the strength, optimism and gracious style of our community in a manner unique to Sandy Springs.”
During these meetings, the City Center design team will overview current plans covering landscaping and green space; architecture and programming; and project timelines.

Goals for the City Center project include the creation of a unique, vibrant, walkable City Center, which incorporates mixed-use development introducing new dining, high-end residential living and amenity retail and entertainment options.
The project also will create an appropriate setting for a new civic/cultural center that will contain multiple uses such as city offices, meeting space and a performing arts facility. In addition, the city block will encompass a green space network to accommodate a variety of activities.
Tuesday’s meeting will take place in the Council Chambers, which are at 7840 Roswell Road Building 500, while Heritage Sandy Springs is at 6110 Bluestone Road.
