🌱 Restriction Clinic's Record + County Schools Limit Phone Use

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sandy Springs.

Happy Monday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know in Sandy Springs today.

First, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 75 Low: 55.

Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:

  1. The Fulton County District Attorney's Office's restriction clinic on Saturday drew a record crowd. The clinic assists residents in sealing certain criminal records to allow residents a second chance. The program relies on the Second Chance Act of 2021 that Georgia Governor Kemp signed to help certain residents restrict records. So far, over 1,000 people in the county have used the program. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. A former Fulton County juvenile probation officer is working to reduce crime among juveniles despite getting fired from the office for allegedly "double-dipping." Bruce Griggs was accused of working as an activist while working as a county probation officer. Griggs is trying to move past his termination by working on his "Saving Our Sons" initiative. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Fulton County Schools will begin heavily restricting cell phone usage this next school year. According to the district's updated Code of Conduct and Student Handbook, students will not be allowed to use an electronic device during the school day or record illegal activity for distribution, such as school fights. (WSB Atlanta)
