SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Riverwood International Charter School’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) awarded $1,000 scholarships to five graduating seniors as part of its annual PTSA Scholarship Program.
The funds will be paid to the two- or four-year college or technical school that the recipient attends. The Class of 2019 recipients, who each received a $1,000 scholarship, are: Haley Gruensfelder, Slate Fluker, Celia Soriano, Magda Karina Moreno-Tacuba, and Eldina Paco. A scholarship selection committee at Riverwood chose the winners from a competitive pool of applicants and the recipients were notified during Honors Night on April 24.
Notes PTSA Co-President Carol Campa, "Once again, Riverwood PTSA is excited to celebrate our students by awarding five $1,000 scholarships. We have been funding scholarships for many years and have been able to increase the number of students who benefit thanks to generous donations and the good financial stewardship of PTSA monies. We are grateful to the many parents and teachers whose support of PTSA allows us to present these scholarships that can truly make a difference for our students."
