Riverwood Charter School Welcomes New Assistant Principal

A new face has joined the administration team at Riverwood International Charter School.

Dr. Gladys Peoples is a native of Kentucky, and has nearly 20 years of experience as an educator.

She has served as principal, counselor, teacher and most recently, assistant principal at Chattahoochee High School in Johns Creek.

Dr. Peoples earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University and her doctorate of philosophy in educational and counseling psychology from the University of Kentucky.

She is the proud mother of four and enjoys spending time with her family and going to the gym.

Dr. Peoples stated that she is “excited to join the staff at Riverwood and help contribute to the continued development of the Riverwood’s outstanding and diverse student body,” the school said in a press release.

Principal Dr. Robert Shaw also stated he believes Dr. Peoples ”brings to Riverwood a proven record of success and a wide variety of experiences.”

The interview committee, comprised of Riverwood parents, teachers, and administrators, was impressed with Dr. People’s “passion for education and obvious commitment to building positive relationships with all school stakeholders,” the school said.
