Riverwood Charter Student Wins First Place at State Swim Meet

Senior Lila Claire Best won first place in the Girls 200-yard Freestyle at the 2015 GHSA State Swimming and Diving meet.

Riverwood International Charter School Senior Lila Claire Best recently won first place in the Girls 200-yard Freestyle in the 2015 GHSA State Swimming and Diving meet.

Although two members of the Riverwood Boys Swim Team* hold state gold medals, Best is the first member of the girls team to bring home a first place award. Her 1:50.44 winning time in the 200 Freestyle broke the Raider school record, which Best established at last year’s state championship. In 2014, she finished fourth in the State in the 200 Free.

In addition to her first place medal in the 200 Free this year, Best returned to the podium to receive the second place award in the Girls 100 yard Freestyle event. Her 51.67 time also broke the Raider school record. Last year, Best tied for 6th in the state in the 100 Free.
