Riverwood FBLA Students Qualify For National Competition
Three members of Riverwood Charter School's Future Business Leaders of America qualified for the 2019 National Leadership Conference.
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Members of the Riverwood International Charter School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter competed at the State Leadership Conference and emerged with three students qualifying for this summer’s National competition.
They include juniors Chandler McCleskey and Luca Maddaleni, and sophomore Piero Maddaleni. These young men will travel to San Antonio for the 2019 FBLA National Leadership Conference. McCleskey placed second in both Impromptu Speaking and Organizational Leadership. Luca Maddaleni placed second in both Cyber Security and Network Design Piero Maddaleni placed fourth in Networking Concepts and sixth in Introduction to Digital Technology.
This marks the third year for both Luca Maddaleni and McCleskey to qualify for the national conference.

In addition to the three national qualifiers, the Raiders earned several other State FBLA awards.
Three students received Business Achievement Awards: McCleskey won at the
America Level, and Carter Rathore and Eashan Sinha won at the Future Leader Level. The
Business Achievement Awards recognize levels of leadership achievement, each consisting of
business, education and leadership elements.

- Luca Maddaleni placed second in both Cyber Security and Network Design
- Piero Maddaleni placed fourth in Networking Concepts and sixth in Introduction to Digital Technology
- Chandler McCleskey placed second in both Impromptu Speaking and Organizational Leadership

- Hannah Tourial placed sixth in Introduction to Business Communication
Prior to the State competition, the Regional Leadership Conference took place at Alpharetta
High School earlier in the semester. Region FBLA winners were:
- Pearce Seabrook: Accounting 1
- Casey Scheele and Hannah McDaniel: Economics
- Hannah Tourial and Eashan Sinha: Introduction to Business Communication
- Piero Maddaleni: Introduction to Information Technology
- Luca Maddaleni, Network Design
