Riverwood students Jose Venancio-Olea and Zoe Osborne were both recognized the the Fulton County Technology Fair.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA - From Riverwood International Charter School: Two Riverwood International Charter School students were recognized for success at the 2018 Fulton County Technology Fair. Senior Jose Venancio-Olea received Second Place in Digital Photography Production for his piece “Beautiful Nature.” Sophomore Zoe Osborne also took home a Second Place award for her Digital Video Production, “The Colour Red.” Both winners are students in Riverwood’s Audio/Video Technology and Film (AVTF) Department. Zoe’s project stemmed from an individual class project that asked students to write a script, use available lighting, incorporate copyright-free music, edit with one special effect, and film with a cellular phone. Both productions were placed on display at Riverwood.
The 2018 Fulton County Technology Fair was held at Westlake High School on Saturday, January 27. More than 500 projects were on display. 100 volunteers made possible the huge success for Fulton County School's Technology Department, classroom teachers, and student participants. Dr. Jesse "JC" Futrell, Riverwood's AVTF teacher and 2018 Fulton Technology Fair Liaison reports, “this was the best run technology fair I have participated in during my 23 years with Fulton County Schools.” Riverwood AVTF students will next take part in a national competition March 15-18 at the Student Television Network in Nashville, Tennessee.
