Road Closures Start Friday For Sandy Springs Festival
These road closures will start Sept. 16 and will remain in place throughout the weekend.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- We are just days from the 31st annual Sandy Springs Festival, and the city wants you to take note that several roads will be closed to through traffic this weekend.
The festival, planned for Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 19, will offer two days of family-friendly entertainment in the heart of the city.
Starting Friday, Sept. 16 and throughout the weekend, the following roads will be closed:

- Sandy Springs Place will be closed between Sandy Springs Circle and Blue Stone Road beginning at 10 a.m. Sept. 16.
- Hilderbrand Drive will be closed between Sandy Springs Circle and Blue Stone Road beginning at 5 p.m. Sept. 16.
- Sandy Springs Circle will be closed between Mt. Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Place beginning at 2:00 p.m. Sept. 16.
The above roads will reopen by 10 p.m. Sunday. On Saturday, Mt. Vernon Highway will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to accommodate the Doug Kessler 10k/5k Road Race.
In addition, Mt. Vernon Highway, between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Road remains closed related to road construction taking place; and two eastbound lanes of Johnson Ferry Road will close for two weeks as a 550-ton crane is assembled in the road. Once assembled, the hydraulic truck crane will be used to lift six, 100-foot trusses to support the roofing for the performing arts center at City Springs.

Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. A free shuttle service will be provided by the city and Cooper-Global Transportation at the following locations during the festival:
- Century Springs East/West, 6000-6100 Lake Forrest Road
- Lake Forest Elementary School, 5920 Sandy Springs Circle
- Northside Tower Parking Deck (behind Signature Bank), 6065 Roswell Road
