The team, together with committee chairs Jason Lina and Trinita Patton, will lead the strategic planning process.

Jabian Consulting worked with LSS to develop the strategic plan, and the board is active in the implementation phase of the the initiative. The plan will focus on enhancing class curriculum and alumni programs, focusing on recruitment and more fully engaging the entire community.

LSS Executive Director Jan Paul stated she’s excited to take the organization to the next level.

“Our energized leadership team works continuously to develop the leadership potential of our class members and we encourage our alumni to stay involved in helping build a thriving Sandy Springs and Central Perimeter area,” she added.

A graduate of LSS’ Class of 2011, Rosenthal is enthused about the organization’s future and her year as board chair. Having collaborated closely for two years with former Board President Bob Levinson, Rosenthal is already familiar with LSS’ challenges and goals and feels prepared for her role.

“This really is one of the healthiest, most active boards that I’ve ever worked on,” she said.

Rosenthal also praised the fiscal strength of the Leadership Sandy Springs, its “amazing board and staff,” and hopes to implement the strategies to grow the organization, its alumni programs and base.

“The entire board is so active and engaged, (and) it is truly is a pleasure to be affiliated with such a wonderfully passionate and committed group of people,” she said.

She notes that over the year, the class application process has become quite competitive as word spreads of Leadership Sandy Springs’s desire to attract strong, energized individuals ready to become engaged leaders who “step up in some type leadership capacity.”

Rosenthal comes with a wealth of community experience and leadership, having previously served on the Hillels of Georgia Board of Directors and the Atlanta Black-Jewish Steering Committee. She’s currently a member of the Meeting Professionals International Georgia Chapter.

In 2014, she also participated in the Federation’s Women’s Leadership Development Program.

She stays very busy with her meeting and event planning business, Meeting Street South, and recently earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.

She is married to Mark Rosenthal and has two children: 19-year old Evan, a sophomore at the University of Georgia, and Julia, 16, a junior at Riverwood International Charter School.

Rosenthal has nothing but a positive outlook on her role in Leadership Sandy Springs and its impact on the community.

“The city of Sandy Springs is at the cusp of adolescence and the best is yet to come,” Rosenthal said. “Leadership Sandy Springs is well positioned to be the nexus of the community where we can cultivate future leaders to make the city the most vibrant place to live and work.”
