Sandy Springs, GA -- The Sandy Springs City Council last week appointed a new Zoning Advisory Committee to help with the drafting of the city’s Zoning Ordinance.

Committee members will be comprised of community members, developers and land use attorneys. They will serve as a sounding board for the Sandy Springs’ planning team, providing guidance and a local perspective on the proposed new code.
“The Zoning Advisory Committee ensures balanced direction for our planners,” said Mayor Rusty Paul. “Our goal is to come away from the planning process with a comprehensive land use plan and zoning ordinances that we all feel supports positive change for Sandy Springs.”

Appointed to the Zoning Advisory Committee are:
Lee Duncan, co-chair
Trisha Thompson, co-chair
Richard Munger, developer
Pete Hendricks, land use attorney
Bill Cleveland, watershed
Matt LaMarsh, HOA president
Warren Jolly, home builder
Pat Chesser, PCID/Ackerman
Phil Kranz, rabbi/resident)
George Northrup, Heritage Sandy Springs
Chip Swearingan, HOA/Leadership Sandy Springs)
Once completed, proposed zoning changes will go through a public hearing process, including presentations to the Planning Commission with final approval by the City Council.
