Leadership Sandy Springs Grad Competes For Woman Of The Year Title
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man and Woman of the Year fundraising competition started March 30.
Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate community leaders engage in a spirited competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man & Woman of the Year” titles, by raising funds for blood cancer research.
The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year, James and Ailynn of Atlanta.
Every dollar raised counts as one vote, and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of ten weeks. The ten weeks began with a Kickoff Celebration on March 30 and culminates with a Grand Finale Gala on June 10 at the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta with 750 guests at $250 per person.

Following the campaign, the winners are recognized through local and national publicity. Nationally in 2016, the Man & Woman of the Year campaign raised more than $37.5 million for patient services, and the goal in 2017 is even more aggressive to find a cure with expert oncologist research.
Stephanie Graham is a Leadership Sandy Springs graduate, assistant city solicitor and Drake House volunteer who is raising money in honor of her father, a non-Hodgkin Lymphoma survivor, and for the Boy & Girl of the Year.
