Sandy Springs Bank Robbery Suspect Strikes In Atlanta, Cobb, Tennessee: FBI

The FBI Atlanta Field Office believes the female suspect is behind several robberies around metro Atlanta as well as one in Chattanooga.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The woman accused of robbing a bank last month in Sandy Springs is now tied to incidents reported in Marietta, Kennesaw, Atlanta and Chattanooga.

That's according to the FBI Atlanta Field Office, which is working to keep the female suspect's activities in the spotlight in an effort to identify and track down her location.

The suspect's most recent target was the Navy Federal Credit Unit at 1300 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw. At around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, July 8, the woman entered the bank and presented a demand note declaring she was there to rob the facility, the FBI said.

The woman left the credit union on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. FBI Atlanta spokesperson Stephen Emmett said the agency believes the same woman is the suspect in similar robberies in Sandy Springs, Atlanta, Marietta and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

On Friday, June 16, the suspect walked into Wells Fargo Bank at 620 Roswell Street in Marietta, approached a teller and presented a demand note announcing the robbery, the FBI previously told Patch. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the alleged robber left the business.

Ten days later on Monday, June 26, the woman entered PNC Bank at 5640 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs around 4:62 p.m. and presented a demand note announcing the hold-up, the agency added. She left the establishment with an undisclosed amount of cash.

On Wednesday, June 28, the suspect entered Chase Bank at 2002 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta and presented a note announcing the robbery. As with previous incidents, she obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank without further incident.

A day later around 11:55 a.m. Thursday, June 29, the suspect -- this time sporting dyed red hair -- walked into SunTrust Bank at 4323 Ringgold Road in Chattanooga and announced a robbery using a demand note.

"In spite of the threat contained in the note, the teller did not give the robber money, and the robber demanded the note back and departed the bank without incident," the FBI states.

A little more than a week later on July 8, the woman entered another Chase Bank establishment at 2350 Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta. She attempted to rob the bank, but did not receive any money and left the business.

The FBI states the woman is described as a black female between 25 and 35 years old with a slender to medium build. During the Kennesaw robbery, the police department said its Facebook page that the suspect was possibly wearing a red-haired wig, light blue long sleeve shirt with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans with large holes on both legs, dark-colored high-top tennis shoes and a black and white striped purse.

"Based on the locations of her robberies and their frequency, she is likely from here or at least living here," Emmett told Patch.

Additionally, while the suspect remains elusive, Emmett said leads continue to come into the FBI Atlanta Field Office for agents to review.

"We have received leads that we are working, but we are still asking for the public’s assistance in terms of solidly identifying her and giving us her current whereabouts," he added.

Anyone who recognizes the woman or has any information about the her alleged crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 404 577-TIPS (8477). All callers can remain anonymous.
