Other things
- A 46-year old man reported that his ex-partner poured some sort of alcoholic beverage into his gas tank. The previous night, the cops were at the home escorting the ex-partner from the home after a disturbance call.
- On March 9, a 46-year-old woman reported that she was contacted by someone saying they were from the IRS and told that she owed $675 for a compulsory student fee from UGA. She did attend there so she continued to listen. The man said that “local law-enforcement were on the way” to arrest her unless she paid the money and for her convenience, she could pay over the phone. She smelled a rat. She asked for his rep number and he gave it as #1839. She then asked to speak to his supervisor, but he refused (clue) and so she continued to ask questions and finally he hung up.
- On March 3, officers responded to Longhorn’s on Roswell Road at around 10 p.m. regarding a stolen iPad from a vehicle. The victim had a tracking device on the iPad and once activated, the officer could see the GPS location as Roswell Road. The officer followed the GPS trail that led from Roswell Road to I-285 west. The GPS signal left I-285 and onto Northside Drive. The officer was at the exact location where the GPS signal showed and observed a white pickup truck with two men inside. Based on the information, he concluded there was a good chance that the men in the truck had the iPad. At that time, the two men apparently concluded the same and then suddenly fled the location in the vehicle, driving recklessly and at high speeds. The officer, have obtained the tag information, did not pursue due to the dangerous circumstances. The officer again followed the trail of the GPS, leading him to Baker Ridge Drive in Atlanta. He found the truck in a driveway and spoke to the resident who told him the truck was not his and he had not seen it before. The officer found what appeared to be other laptops, glass fragments, and other items leading to believe that the items may be stolen from other vehicles. The officer checked the VIN showing the truck had been stolen in Atlanta. (Truck had a temporary tag on it.) A search warrant was obtained and the items recovered. In addition, Dunwoody Police believe the truck was used for several thefts from autos there as well.

On March 10, a guy named Joseph called the cops over to the parking lot of the Art Institute of Atlanta, 6600 PDR. He is standing by his car that has extensive damage to the front. He tells the officer the following:
- His car was hit in the parking lot and during that time, someone hit it. The officer looks around and notices that there is no debris on the pavement. He points this out to Joseph.
- Joseph says: “Okay, I’ll be honest. I hit the concrete wall at my uncle’s house in Canton.” The officer notices that there is no evidence of concrete embedded in the damaged area of the car. He points this out to Joseph.
- “Okay, I’ll be honest [this time.] I hit my uncle’s black Lincoln Navigator this morning and I just freaked out.” The officer responds, “Okay, let’s get him on the phone and discuss.” Joseph then looks on his phone for his uncle’s number.
- “Okay I’ll be [really super honest] with you this time, I was on the highway this morning, lost control, almost hit a car, and hit the retaining wall.” Again, the officer points out that there is no evidence of wall debris in the damaged area of the car.
- At this point Joseph, who is obviously misusing the “honest” tries it again. “I’ll be [totally] honest with you, I hit the back of a woman’s car. We exchanged information. I gave her the correct phone number but I used a fake name [Ishmael.]”
- Joseph, AKA Ishmael, was arrested for false representation to a police officer and sent to jail.
