- 800 Spalding Drive, 30350, 6/25: Around 11 a.m. cops were called to the address regarding a man who was lying across a fence. CID is investigating however they have no conclusions at this point.
Fraud
- An 82-year-old woman said the following: She was on her computer when she heard a sound like a siren go off. At that time, her phone rang. The man on the other end said he was from Microsoft and could fix her computer. That person had accessed her computer. He said they could fix it for $249 and monitor it for two years. Later, she received another call stating the $249 would be refunded. They further advised they had made a typo and refunded $1,249 instead. That amount needed to be returned or the person (caller) would be fired. The victim’s bank account reflected a credit of $2,299 but it had come from her line of credit, which someone had accessed. Another call was made to her asking for the refund money to be sent to Kim Richards in India. (Finally) the victim said something to her daughter who recognized it as a fraud and placed the alerts on her accounts. The victim said when she logs onto the computer, she can tell that someone has control of it and has accessed her personal information. Capt. Steve Rose says: That’s some weird stuff, logging on and seeing someone else is at the helm. Shut that thing down and change your passwords. I think the Internet provider can issue you a new IP address, too. I’d research it because it is a problem that has happened to a lot of people. There should be some good information out there.

He was later arrested.
