From the City of Sandy Springs: Have you seen the new Citizen Patrol in your neighborhood? The patrol is comprised of 15 Sandy Springs residents who have committed their time to serving our community. Each volunteer completed an 11-week citizen's police academy, a 12-week Citizens on Patrol training course, and an 8-hour emergency vehicle operations course.
When the patrol is not supporting the Police Department on the scene of traffic accidents and other incidents, they are patrolling neighborhoods. When a crime in progress is observed, the patrol retreats to a safe position and radios dispatch to send Sandy Springs Police Officers.
