The award was presented May 28 during a celebration dinner.
“The award comes as a surprise, and I am deeply honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient,” McDonough said in his keynote address to a gathering of India’s acting Consul General R. Srinivasan and prominent business and community leaders from India and the United States. “I applaud the work of the Indo-American Friendship Group and the co-hosts, Global Indian Business Council, to foster and strengthen commercial and cultural bonds between U.S. and India(n) communities. Their presence has been a positive one in Sandy Springs, from locating the Consulate within our city, to events such as the upcoming June 21 International Day of Yoga, which ties together the communities.”
