Sandy Springs To Close Riverside Drive For Improvements
Starting May 26, the road will be closed south of Johnson Ferry Road so the city can realign an existing sharp curve.

Motorists who rely on a segment of Riverside Drive may want to start scouting around for an alternate route.

Starting Tuesday, May 26, the city of Sandy Springs will close Riverside Drive just south of Johnson Ferry Road to though traffic as it begins to realign the existing sharp curve along the road.
During the construction period, the intersection will be closed and a detour route in be in place. The detour route map can be viewed online.

Drivers are asked to use extreme caution when driving in the area and maintain the posted speed limits. There will be additional signage to help direct motorists.
The City Council in April awarded a bid to Precision 2000, Inc. to perform the work, which includes roadway construction and the installation of guardrail and sidewalks.
Weather permitting, work is planned to be completed by late August 2015.
