SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Hammond Park Recreation Center is a step closer to getting renovations after the City Council approved a $531,451 contract, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Once the Legal and Finance departments approve the contract, which is with Diversified Construction of Georgia Inc., the recreation center will get a new exterior on the gymnasium, new windows and facade and more. The entrance and lobby will get mechanical and electrical system upgrades.
The AJC reported recreation center staff as saying some areas haven't been upgraded since the mid-1970's.
