Sandy Springs Couple Charged In Marijuana Distribution Operation

Along with traditional marijuana, police seized THC-laced cookies, gummy candies and brownies from a residence.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- A Sandy Springs husband and wife have been charged with carrying out a marijuana distribution operation inside an apartment unit.

Sandy Springs police have arrested Charles Sullivan Sitero, 40, and Lillian E. Sitero, 35, in connection to the bust, which was made earlier this month at a residence off Trowbridge Road.

An anonymous tip led investigators to the apartment at 90 Spalding Trail, the agency said on its Facebook page.

Sandy Springs police also say more than 3 pounds of marijuana were seized in what it has dubbed a "local marijuana distribution operation."

Police spokesperson Sgt. Forrest Bohannon said marijuana, Butane Hash Oil and THC-laced brownies, cookies and gummy candies were all taken from the residence.

THC, or tetrahydrocannabino, is the main mind-altering component in the cannabis plant.

During the investigation, detectives also identified a storage unit at 1105 Mt. Vernon Highway the couple allegedly used to store their "assets and drug distribution equipment," Sgt. Bohannon added.

Jail records show the Siteros were each charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. They were booked into the Fulton County Jail on Aug. 10 and released the following day on an $8,000 bond.
