Sandy Springs Education Force Race Returns Saturday

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) will hold its sixth annual Footprints for the Future race in the heart of Sandy Springs, at City Springs on the City Green, 1 Galambos Way, on Oct. 26, rain or shine. Proceeds from the race support SSEF literacy programming, including Reading Buddies, Mini Libraries and Backpack Book Club.

The family fun begins with the AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier Footprints for the Future 10K/5K
(runner’s choice) at 7:45 a.m. Race registration for the 10K/5K includes a t-shirt and a SWAG bag of giveaways from sponsors and community supporters. Pontoon Brewing Beer will be among the after-race treats for runners. Runners and walkers will also enjoy a pre-race packet pick-up option and chip timing. There will be first, second and third place awards for all age categories, and special overall and masters awards.

Following the race at 9:30 a.m., the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber’s Health & Well-Being Council will present a free Fall Fun Health Fest, including interactive demonstrations and activities. Kids and adults can enjoy a DJ, light bites and giveaways. The Heritage Sandy Springs Farmer’s Market will also be on-site. Free parking is available at City Springs.

One public school in Sandy Springs will win the Spirit Award – a team participation trophy - for registering the most runners.
