Sandy Springs Festival Promises Something For Everyone

The 29th annual festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Heritage Green.

The 29th annual Sandy Springs Festival will return to the heart of the city this weekend.

The two-day festival will be held 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 at Heritage Green, which sits at 6075 Sandy Springs Circle.

This community tradition, organized by Heritage Sandy Springs, has been going strong for nearly 30 years, and “promises something for everyone,” according to its website. The festival will be packed with juried artist market, the Gas South Childen’s Park and Teen Territory featuring inflatables, arts & crafts, petting zoo and face painting.

Festivities will officially get underway with the Sandy Springs Lightning 5K/10K and other activities include live music, gourmet and festival food options, cultural performances and the popular pet parade. For the race, the 10K will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and 5K runners will start their trek through the city at 7:50 a.m.

Another popular activity, 2014 ArtSS Chalk Walk competition, will also take place during the festival.

Tickets are $5 for adults (age 18 and older) and $2 for youth (ages 6–17). Children ages 5 and under and Heritage Sandy
Springs members are free. Two-day passes are also available, which are $7 for adults and $3 for youth.

All proceeds benefit will benefit Heritage Sandy Springs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic and cultural identity of Sandy Springs.
