Sandy Springs To Host Input Meetings On Path400 Trail Extension

The city's meetings will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Highpoint Episcopal Community Church.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- On Wednesday, Oct. 25, the city of Sandy Springs will host two meetings to allow the community to weigh in on plans to extend the Path400 multi-use trail from Buckhead into the city. The first meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and the second will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Both meetings, which will cover the same content, will be held at Highpoint Episcopal Community Church at 4945 High Point Road in Sandy Springs. In each meeting, residents will participate in an interactive design charrette and have the opportunity to view maps, provide input and ask questions about the project.

Plans call for extending the existing 5.1-mile path from Loridans Drive north to the GA-400/Interstate 285 interchange (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

The path will be built primarily within the existing Georgia Department of Transportation right-of-way along GA-400. The extension will also provide connectivity to the proposed multi-use paths on Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Mt. Vernon Highway.

The Path400 project is included within the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) program approved by voters in Sandy Springs and Fulton County as part of the T-SPLOST referendum passed in November 2016.
