Sandy Springs Man Found Dead In Buckhead Hotel
Atlanta police say the 37-year-old was one of two men found dead Friday, June 9 at two separate locations in Buckhead.

ATLANTA, GA -- The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has released the age and residence of one of two men found dead Friday in two separate locations in Buckhead.
One victim, a 37-year-old male from Sandy Springs, was found deceased June 9 by authorities at the AC Hotel on Wieuca Road. Another male, whose identity remains unknown at this time, was discovered around the same time at Post Chastain Apartments, which is located off Roswell Road.
According to WXIA, police believe the victim may have passed away on Thursday. Toxicology tests on the victim are pending, the station reports. Fox 5 Atlanta notes Atlanta police are investigating both deaths as possible overdoses.

According to incident reports released by the police department, the bodies of both men did not show any signs of foul play and the locations where they were found did not give away signs of forced entry.
However, at the Post Chastain location, the responding officer notes there was suspected powdered form of heroin, glass marijuana pipe and green pills located next to the coffee table, the incident report states.

At that moment, a lieutenant with the Sandy Springs Fire Department -- which also responded to the scene -- "immediately became concerned" about the possibility that fentanyl or other hazardous materials could be present in the pills or powder, so the first responders backed out of the apartment.
An investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office was dispatched to the scene and told authorities it appeared the cause of death of the male at the apartment complex was an overdose, but could not be sure due to body's state of decomposition.
These two deaths were reported just days after a mass overdose in middle Georgia resulted in the deaths of five people, Patch previously reported.
State analysts investigating the public health crisis said last week they found a new substance they were not previously familiar with, calling it a "consistent with a new fentanyl analogue."
Over a 48-hour period earlier last week, hospitals in several Georgia cities, including Centerville, Perry, Macon and Warner Robins, reported overdoses -- and four fatalities related to street drugs taken under the pretense that they were prescription drugs. The fifth person was identified by Macon-Bibb County coroner as 34-year-old Robert Ketchup.
